Directions
1/2 cup Powdered Sugar
8 tbsp Vegetable Shortening
4 tbsp Butter, unsalted, softened
2 tsp Vanilla Extract
1/2 tsp Salt
2 cups All Purpose Flour
1/4 cup Ground Walnuts
Preheat oven to 350*F.
Measure the flour, ground nuts and salt into a bowl.
In the bowl of a stationary mixer fitted with a paddle, cream the
butter, shortening, vanilla and powdered sugar.
Scrape down the bowl and add the dry ingredients. Mix until well
combined
Scoop cookies onto a parchment lined sheet pan. Re-roll each
one into a tight ball.
Bake for 8-12 minutes until dry to the touch.
Let the cookies cool. Once cooled, stack in groups of three. Use
chocolate or frosting to stick them together. Decorate and then sift
powdered sugar over them.
