14h agoThe number of lifeguards at state park swimming areas will be significantly reduced this weekend.
The Department of Energy and Environmental Protection says that while lifeguard staffing was successful this swimming season, many lifeguards are returning to school.
Lifeguards will be posted today through Monday at Black Rock, Silver Sands and Hammonasset Beach state parks.
There will be no lifeguards for the rest of the year starting Tuesday as the summer comes to a close.
