Noble Drew Ali Plaza cleans up
The once drug and crime infested complex known as the Noble Drew Ali Plaza in Brownsville is seeing major positive changes since Omni New York and ex-Mets player Mo Vaughn purchased the complex in 2007.
Since the purchase, crime is down and the area is more secure. Visitors are now screened upon entering the building. There are more than 300 security cameras, along with unarmed security guards on the premises 24 hours a day.
The 73rd Precinct says major crimes at the complex have been cut in half since 2006, and more than 30 alleged drug dealers were arrested in 2007.
