The excitement was contagious at Brooklyn Family Court as 125 foster children were placed in permanent homes Saturday as part of a National Adoption Month celebration.
A brother and sister now have a family of their own after years in foster care and delighted in their new extended family.
Rosalie Robinson, who already has five children, opened her home and heart to more. ?I don't find a bad kid. I find a kid that needs love and attention and needs somebody,? she says.
?We have, nationally speaking, almost one quarter of a million children waiting to be adopted,? Jorge Pastor of the Administration for Children?s Services says.
As part of National Adoption Month, the Brooklyn Public Library is hosting a special photography exhibit of foster children.
By the end of the year, 1,800 adoptions will be finalized in New York, according to officials.
