Police say a yearlong undercover drug sting has virtually come to an end, with 17 people arrested for allegedly selling heroin and crack cocaine.
Authorities are still searching for five more suspects responsible for reportedly turning the Roosevelt Houses in Bed-Stuy into an open drug market. Investigators say they received complaints a little over a year ago from residents about drug activity around and within the complex off Marcus Garvey and Dekalb avenues.
Undercover officers then started buying heroin, marijuana and crack cocaine.
The suspects are all facing multiple felony drug charges. Police say they also found a loaded .44-caliber Ruger.
Police say five suspects remain at large.
