The teenager accused in the fatal stabbing of O'Shae Sibley was arraigned Friday in New York City.

The district attorney's office identified the suspect as Dmitriy Popov, 17. He faces second-degree murder as a hate crime and first-degree manslaughter charges, among others. He has pleaded not guilty.

If convicted, he faces a minimum of 20 years in prison and a maximum of 25 to life.

Police say Sibley was dancing outside of the car at a gas station when a group started yelling anti-gay and anti-Black slurs on July 29. That dispute turned violent and resulted in the deadly stabbing.

A funeral was held in Philadelphia for Sibley on Tuesday.
