2 children struck by cars in 2 separate incidents in Brooklyn

Two children were injured Friday evening after they were struck by cars not too far from each other.
EMS says a child around 13 years old was hit a little before 6 p.m. near the corner of Malcolm X Boulevard and Hancock Street. The child was taken to Kings County Hospital in unknown condition. It is not known if the child was a boy or girl.
Minutes later, an 8-year-old boy was hit by a car near Fulton Street and Utica Avenue. He was taken to Kings County Hospital in critical condition.
