Two more arrests have been made in the assault on former New York Gov. David Paterson, who was reportedly attacked while walking his dog on Friday night.

The NYPD confirmed that two adults, 40-year-old Travor Nurse and 34-year-old Diamond Minter, are now in custody, joining two minors who were previously arrested.

Nurse, who claims innocence, was seen being escorted out of the 23rd Precinct, while Minter remained silent. Both are accused of taking part in the attack, which occurred around 8:30 p.m. on Oct. 4 near 1871 Second Ave. in East Harlem, where Paterson lives.

According to police reports, the incident began as a verbal argument between the two victims and a group of five individuals before escalating into violence. The victims, identified as 70-year-old David Paterson and his 20-year-old stepson, were assaulted by the group. Paterson and his stepson were treated for minor injuries at Weill Cornell Medical Center.

The two minors, ages 12 and 13, were arrested shortly after the incident. One of them faces a second-degree gang assault charge, while the other is charged with third-degree gang assault.

Now, Nurse is facing two counts of gang assault, as well as second-degree assault for allegedly attacking someone 65 or older. Minter is charged with one count of gang assault for allegedly attacking the 20-year-old victim.

In this case, "gang assault" means that three or more people were involved in the attack, which makes the crime more serious. It does not imply that the attackers were part of an organized gang, but the involvement of a group escalates the charges.
