Tenants suing Bronx landlord, claim they've dealt with unsafe living conditions for years
A landlord is facing a lawsuit from his tenants resulting from numerous years of unsafe conditions.

News 12 has learned a New York City landlord is being sued by several of his tenants from one of his Queens properties.
The tenants claim Ved Parkash has left them in unsafe living conditions for years, including lack of repairs, lack of maintenance, lack of heat and hot water.
"It's been stressful because we have been reaching out, communicating the urgency of the repairs,” said tenant Segundo Villagomez.
Villagomez says they have been without hot water, living with mold, rodents, leaking pipes and a missing toilet.
"They will tell us something like, 'the super is coming,” he added. The super is coming tomorrow."
According to the Housing Preservation and Development website, tenants like Villagomez living at 8920 161st St. have made 157 complaints. After inspecting them, HPD found 30 violations in the building.
Last week, News 12 reported two of Parkash’s Bronx properties were hit with multiple violations by Housing Preservation and Development that were heavily damaged by fire. The fire at 735 East 242nd St. was fatal. The other fire occurred at 1420 Noble Ave.
The legal team for the tenants says that their main objective is to get the landlord to make those proper repairs. But they say if he doesn't do so in a timely manner, they're hoping that the court will move forward with fining him.
