The shutdown of the G train has been a hot-button topic for Brooklyn commuters, many of whom say it’s led to frustration.

“It’s been making me late, I have take the bus, bus to another train,” said Bed-Stuy resident Mike.

The shutdown of the G train is currently in Phase 2, meaning that stops from Court Square to Bedford and Nostrand Ave. The MTA says the purpose of the shutdown is to improve the signal system that’s been in place since 90 years ago.

If all goes as planned, Brooklyn residents should be able to grab their G train at stops like Myrtle and Willoughby by Aug. 12.
