Brooklynites in Canarsie were recognized for their contributions to the community during the annual Shoot for the Stars Foundation “Canarsie Honors” event.

The group is dedicated to the vision of late Brooklyn rapper Pop Smoke.

His mother, Audrey Jackson, says honoring local figures is a way to continue her son’s legacy.
