NYC schools with low enrollment will no longer see budget reduction
According to data from the DOE, enrollment in the city’s 3K and K through12 grades fell 2.4 percent compared to last year, about 22,000 fewer students.

To keep schools stable, supported and well-funded, New York City schools announced that schools with low enrollment will no longer see a budget reduction.
The announcement made on Monday states that schools with lower-than-projected enrollment don’t have to give back funds over $250 million mid-year. In addition, schools that saw a higher-than-projected enrollment will receive extra money.
According to data from the Department of Education, enrollment in the city’s 3K and K through 12 grades fell 2.4 percent compared to last year, about 22,000 fewer students.
