A private small plane crashed Saturday in central-eastern Colombia, killing all six people onboard, including singer Yeison Jiménez, authorities confirmed.

The aircraft, registered as N325FA, went down in the Paipa and Diutama area in the Boyacá department, according to a statement from Civil Aviation. It was en route to Medellín.

“With heavy hearts and indescribable grief, Yeison Jiménez's organization and team deeply regret to announce his passing,” a statement in Spanish read on Jiménez’s Instagram page. “Today, we not only say goodbye to an artist; we say goodbye to a son, a brother, a friend, a human being full of dreams and courage, who transformed his story into a source of hope for thousands.”

All six occupants died, the agency added, noting that Jiménez, 34, was among the victims. The others who died in the crash were the pilot, Captain Hernando Torres, and passengers Juan Manuel Rodríguez, Óscar Marín, Jefferson Osorio, and Weisman Mora.

The Boyacá governor’s office issued a statement declaring mourning in the department.

Videos shared by Colombian media show the plane taking off as voices shout that “the runway ran out.” Later footage shows the burning wreckage of the aircraft. Authorities have not provided details about the circumstances of the crash.

Transport Minister Fernanda Rojas stated on social media platform X that relevant authorities have begun investigations to determine the cause of the accident.

Civil Aviation added that its Accident Investigation Technical Directorate activated protocols for procedures such as evidence collection.
