Police are investigating an incident in North Riverdale in which a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle and dragged for several minutes.

Authorities say the victim was hit at the intersection of West 262nd Street and Broadway. The driver, a 31-year-old man operating a red Honda CR‑V, did not realize what had happened and continued driving. Officers were later redirected to 90 Caryl Avenue in Yonkers, where the victim was found underneath the vehicle.

Exclusive video shows the driver attempting to pull into a driveway, repeatedly moving the car forward and backward before exiting and realizing a person was trapped beneath it. Police say a 911 call came in around 10:07 p.m.

The victim, an unidentified adult male, was found unconscious and unresponsive with multiple injuries. Authorities say cold and snowy conditions made the situation more dangerous. He was taken to NYC Health + Hospitals/Jacobi, where he remains in critical condition.

Investigators with the Collision Investigation Squad say the victim had been lying in the roadway on Broadway when he was struck.
