Arrest made in brutal train platform attack in the South Bronx

A 33-year-old man is now in custody following a violent attack on the 6 train platform in the South Bronx.

The April 28 incident happened inside the East 149th Street subway station on the 6 train line platform just before 8:40 p.m.

Police say a 39-year-old man was picked up and thrown onto the tracks. When the man attempted to get back on the platform, he was repeatedly kicked.

The victim had minor injuries and was transported by EMS to NYC Health + Hospitals/Lincoln.

Navar Douglas is facing charges of attempted murder, assault, reckless endangerment and harassment.
