Body recovered in Connecticut River near Lyme and Chester

Environmental Conservation (EnCon) Police, Connecticut State Police and fire departments from Lyme and Chester responded and recovered the body, which was taken to the medical examiner.

A person on a boat on the Connecticut River spotted a body in the water near the Chester–Lyme ferry area around 1 p.m. Saturday.

Environmental Conservation (EnCon) Police, Connecticut State Police and fire departments from Lyme and Chester responded and recovered the body, which was taken to the medical examiner.

Officials say the victim is an adult man and appears to have been in the water for quite some time. The medical examiner will determine the cause and manner of death.

EnCon Police said there is no known threat to the public.
