For the first time in history, Knicks fans will be able to join the NBA champions this Thursday for the team’s first-ever ticker-tape parade in Manhattan.

“I've been waiting for 53 years for my Knicks to win a championship,” said one fan, Abdullah. “They finally got the right team to do it.”

After a historic Game 5 win against the Spurs — the wait is over. Now, it’s time for the city to celebrate.

“It is going to be immensely powerful,” said another fan, Cole. “It's going to be so positive. Everybody's going to be having a good time and we're going to celebrate the dub. Thursday is going to be insane.”

Thursday's celebration marks an even bigger milestone. Generations of Knicks fans will finally see something this city has never had — a championship parade for their team.

“The Yankees have been there,” said another fan. “Mandela has been there. The WNBA has been there.”

The ticker-tape parade kicks off Thursday at 10 a.m. near Battery Park and moves along Broadway through the Canyon of Heroes to City Hall.

Fans say they expect thousands, if not millions of people to show up — just as they did throughout the NBA playoff series.
