Man shot inside Bay View Houses apartment building in Canarsie; gunman still on the run

A second person has died after Sunday night’s shooting at LA42 Night Club in Waterbury, according to police.

The 18-year-old victim has been identified as Zaniya Dawkins.

Twenty-two-year-old Trey-Von Dunbar of Waterbury was also killed.

Officers responded to the club on East Main Street just after midnight on July 5 after reports of shots fired.

According to the Department of Consumer Protection’s website, the owner of the business canceled the club’s liquor license.

The club also appears to have deleted its Instagram account.

Authorities have not released information about possible suspects or what led to the shooting.
