A man showing off his Burmese python to a crowd in Coney Island got his snake taken and was ticketed, according to the Department of Environmental Conservation.

On Thursday, the DEC put out information on the July 12 incident near the Riegelmann Boardwalk, saying an officer spotted the large snake surrounded by about a dozen people, including young children.

According to the agency, the man was also carrying a second snake, a ball python, around his neck while handling and showing the Burmese python to the crowd.

A DEC officer asked the man about the larger snake, and he allegedly admitted it belonged to him.

The agency described the Burmese python as a dangerous species and said they are illegal to have in New York.

He got a ticket for illegal possession and the snake was confiscated.

The snake is expected to be transferred to the Nassau County SPCA.

The DEC says introducing Burmese pythons to the environment can severely impact native wildlife.
