1 dead after vehicle crashes into toll booth area at entrance to Sunken Meadow State Park

State police say a preliminary investigation determined that a vehicle crashed into the toll booth area at the entrance to Sunken Meadow State Park and became engulfed in flames.
State Parks police reported the vehicle struck an unstaffed toll plaza at the park entrance before catching fire.
A deceased occupant was located inside the vehicle. Due to the extensive damage caused by the crash and fire, investigators are working to determine the identity of the occupant, as well as and the make and model of the vehicle.
As a result of the crash, Sunken Meadow State Park was closed until further notice.
