Partly sunny skies for Wednesday and Thursday with strong winds. Potential wing gusts will be 30 to 40 mph with highs in the 60s.
LATE-WEEK COASTAL STORM?
The storm potential for Friday into the weekend depends on the exact storm track and as of Monday night's forecast, that track is far from certain. Check back with the News 12 Storm Watch Team throughout the week for important updates.
If this coastal storm tracks closer to Long Island, there can be significant rain and wind, with potential wind damage into the weekend. If the storm stays further offshore, which is still a very good possibility, Long Island will get some wind, but little to no rain.
In either scenario, there will be coastal impacts of tidal flooding as a full moon approaches this weekend, beach erosion and dangerous surf. The level of severity of these coastal impacts would be worsened with a closer storm track or eased a bit with a further away storm track.
