A 24-year-old woman was struck and killed by a truck near Meeker Avenue and Skillman Avenue last Tuesday.
Authorities say Molly Pearson and the driver were both heading east on Meeker Avenue and the driver of the truck struck Pearson when he turned right on Skillman Avenue--ejecting her from her moped.
Pearson was pronounced dead at Bellevue Hospital four days later.
“It’s unfortunate that somebody’s life got taken away due to recklessness. On the driver's part. As a driver you should be aware of your blind spots at all times. Especially when you have individuals traveling on bicycles, scooters. You know, it’s unfortunate. It’s just sad,” said resident Jonathan Santana.
News 12 reached out to Lime Moped, the maker of the moped she was riding at the time of the crash, who say they are devastated to learn of the incident and are cooperating with the NYPD.
