Gunfire erupted after a dance outside of a Bronx high school Friday night, sending three teenagers to the hospital, police say.
According to authorities, the incident happened at around 11 p.m. as students were filing out of Columbus H.S. after a school dance. Police say that is when a gunman opened fire, hitting two male students and one female.
Witnesses say the flying bullets caused about 100 students to run for their lives up Astor Avenue toward Wallace and Holland avenues, searching for cover.
Investigators say all three victims of the shooting were rushed to Jacobi Medical Center, where they were treated for non-life threatening injuries.
Saturday morning, police were on scene outside of the school, searching for clues as to what sparked the violence. So far, no arrests have been made.
