Three people are in the hospital after being shot on the streets of Brownsville.

Witnesses say they heard multiple shots fired and then saw two people on the ground near Eastern Parkway and Thomas S. Boyland Street shortly after 5:30 p.m. on Saturday.

Police say a 17-year-old male was shot in the torso, and a 20-year-old male was grazed by a bullet in the back of his head. A 45-year-old woman was also shot in the neck.

Off-duty Dr. Adam Nassery was stopped at a light on Eastern Parkway when he heard the shots. He says he ran out to help the victims before the ambulance arrived.

All three victims were rushed to Brookdale Hospital, and are expected to be OK.

Police and crime scene squads are investigating the area, looking for any evidence. No arrests have been made at this time.
