Four Brooklyn schools have been selected for an environmental education program aimed at cleaning up Greenpoint.
The schools selected for the Eco-Schools project are M.S. 126, P.S. 31, P.S. 34 and P.S. 110.
Exxon Mobil is funding the $1.75 million program as part of a settlement over decades of pollution at Newton Creek in Greenpoint.
State prosecutors had sued the company for compensation and to clean up the area.
Each school will get a full-time sustainability coach who will work with students and staff to implement a variety of environmental projects.
