Authorities say eight people were taken to the hospital after two vehicles collided at Third Avenue and 37th Street.
Emergency workers say a man selling bottles at the intersection became pinned when a Toyota Corolla and a Chrysler minivan collided.
The advocacy group Transportation Alternatives says the intersection has been prone to accidents in the past.
