A 9-year-old boy was rushed to the hospital after being hit by a truck Thursday afternoon in East New York.

Police say the boy was in the middle of the road at Linden Boulevard and Crescent Street around 3:30 p.m. when he was struck.

The boy was taken to Brookdale Hospital in serious but stable condition.

Witnesses say the truck driver stayed at the scene.
