A 9-year-old Brooklyn girl holds the distinction of being New York's youngest published author.
Anaya Willabus wrote her first book, "The Day Mohan Found His Confidence" when she was 8 years old.
Willabus' book tells the story of a boy who faces many challenges at home and at school. She hopes readers can relate to those struggles.
"When I started writing the book I figured it should be someone that people can relate to because sometimes many of us have confidence issues," she says.
Willabus' book has sold over 3,000 copies so far. In her parents' native Guyana, the local government has added it to the elementary school curriculum.
Willabus, who already has plans to write another book, says she wants to be a teacher when she's older and hopes to continue her writing career.
