Brooklyn Black Lives Matter activists marched on Sunday to demand an end to police brutality.
They marched to honor the life of 12-year-old Tamir Rice who was fatally shot while playing in a park a year ago by a Cleveland police officer.
The protesters marched for Rice at Nicholas Heyward Park. The park's namesake was also killed by police two decades ago at the Gowanus Houses. Police mistook Heyward's toy gun for a real one. In that case, the officer was never charged.
Residents say they are demanding justice for Rice, and are calling for the the immediate arrest and prosecution of the officer who killed him.

On Monday evening, the group will be holding a vigil at Grand Army Plaza to demand justice for Rice.
