Three men accused of fatally shooting an NYPD officer and wounding another in a traffic stop, leading to a multi-state manhunt, appeared in court Wednesday for a pretrial hearing.

Dexter Bostic, Robert Ellis and Lee Woods are preparing to go to trial for murder and attempted murder charges in the death of Russel Timoshenko and the wounding of Officer Herman Yan during a July 2007 traffic stop in Prospect-Lefferts Garden near Crown Heights.

In court, the prosecution said it's reviewing 911 tapes and surveillance video from a fast-food restaurant, along with the defense. DNA evidence is also being reviewed, which could result in the trial being moved up.

Yan sat with Timoshenko's family during the hearing as fellow officers stood in the courtroom in a show of support.

Police say the officers were fired upon after discovering that license plates didn't match the trio's vehicle, which was stolen. Timoshenko, who was posthumously promoted to detective, was gravely wounded in the head, while Yan suffered non-life threatening injuries.Woods was captured less than 24 hours after the shooting, while Bostic and Ellis were captured in Monroe County, Pennsylvania.

The trial is expected to begin June 10. The suspects are being represented by different attorneys.
