An Italian-American celebration that has people flocking to Williamsburg every year kicked off Wednesday night.
The annual Giglio Feast began at the Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, starting 12 days of festivities.
The feast has been going strong since 1903 when the Nolani immigrants settled in Williamsburg.
The event is best known for the exciting Giglio lifts, which involve more than 100 men carrying the five-story statue through the streets.
Among the fun activities featured are Italian music, food and dancing.
