After a storm of criticism about the size of the Atlantic Yards project, the developer unveiled revised plans Thursday.
Developer Forest City Ratner had already reduced the project?s size by 5 percent in March. Now, architect Frank Gehry has come up with smaller, more conservative drawings and models of the planned arena.
The project will house a basketball arena for the New Jersey Nets, retail and office space and housing units. Gehry says the site is perfect for development and he says he integrated community concerns into his updated designs. Meanwhile, opponents of the project say the new plans still don?t address various issues, such as traffic problems and tax payer costs.
