Authorities say a suspect was arrested in connection to setting two houses of worship on fire in New Britain.

Mayor Erin Stewart believes the Friday fires at Congregation Tiphereth Israel and St. Matthew Lutheran Church are connected. No one was inside either building at the time.

The investigation into the fires is ongoing.

The suspect faces arson charges.
