Rescuers pulled a baby from a burning building Wednesday afternoon in East Flatbush.
Fire officials say the flames broke out at around 3 p.m. in a second-floor apartment of a three-story building on Church Avenue. Crews were able to get the fire under control in about 30 minutes.
Firefighters were seen pulling the 7-month-old baby from the building. Four other people inside suffered minor injuries. They were all sent to Kings County Hospital.
The Red Cross says the entire second floor of the building was destroyed, and two others sustained serious water and smoke damage. The organization will provide temporary shelter to eight people displaced by the fire.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
