Commuters in Sunset Park will get to use a fresh and clean subway station after it received a major makeover.
The 53rd Street station reopened after six months of renovations with new amenities and a completely new look.
Among the changes are countdown clocks that inform commuters of the arrival times of incoming trains, modern street-level canopies, USB charging ports and enhanced LED lighting.
The station is the first of 33 due to get an overhaul, and one of three on the R line to see changes.
Although the upgrades received mostly positives reviews from commuters, some were disappointed in the lack of an elevator.
