A Bedford-Stuyvesant family who had been living in horrendous conditions in their public housing unit finally got the help they needed Friday after News 12 Brooklyn made a visit.
Edwina Huntley's apartment in the Louis Armstrong Houses needed repairs after a leak in her upstairs bathroom. However, she wasn't receiving the help she needed until News 12 visited the home two weeks ago.
Huntley says after News 12 came to investigate the leak, NYCHA sent a crew right away to fix it. But after the repair, the crew left a hole in the ceiling.
News 12 made a second call to NYCHA, and today a maintenance worker fixed the ceiling once and for all.
The family says they are grateful to News 12 for helping get the repairs done, and that they hope no other NYCHA tenants ever have to deal with similar issues.
