Bed-Stuy residents are fed up with what they say is a construction project that seems to have stalled and in the process has impeded their commutes.
Anyone who has walked by Stuyvesant Avenue and Fulton Street recently probably has been inconvenienced in some way by barricades that residents say are only putting people in harm's way.
The construction area moving from Stuyvesant to Schenectady Avenue has temporarily shut down access to the A & C trains, while also making it difficult for passengers to board and exit the B25 bus.
For those needing to get around Fulton Park, which is also blocked off, locals now have to walk in pedestrian access lanes in the street, which they say put them mere feet away from free-flowing traffic.
News 12 reached out to the MTA, who acknowledged in a statement that they are aware of the problem, which is a government-based project and are working to expedite the process.
News 12 also spoke to the Department of Design and Construction, who says despite being on the permit, this is not "their job." The contracted group Restani Construction Group, did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
