A Bedford-Stuyvesant woman who coped with an awful leak in her NYCHA apartment at the Tompkins Complex is expressing thanks now that it's been fixed.
News 12 first brought you the story of Shonette Austin on Friday -- and she says it was fixed the same day.
Back in August, Austin says NYCHA had removed her kitchen cabinets because they were leaning. After the removal, she says the space started leaking.
Eventually it got so bad that Austin says it was causing mold throughout her home. she says water had spread to the hallway and to her neighbors' apartments.
NYCHA addressed the leak, but Austin says she's now just waiting for her cabinets to be replaced.
