A nonprofit group is working to repurpose unpurchased flowers that are usually thrown out by local businesses in the borough.
BloomAgainBklyn, founded in 2014 by Caroline Anderson, refurbishes the unsold flowers into arrangements, which are then hand delivered to nursing homes and homebound seniors.
"It is my passion," Anderson told News 12 Brooklyn. "I'm very lucky to be able to do it with such an amazing volunteer corps."
The group's partners include Trader Joe's and Opalia Flowers, who donate flowers several days a week.
BloomAgainBklyn says they have delivered thousands of arrangements since its inception, and there are no plans to slow down.
