An up-and-coming musical group is climbing the charts with a song about Brooklyn.
The seven-member Seal Breakers decided to combine their passion for music and the borough through their first single, "Brooklyn."
"As Brooklyn was starting to take on a whole new Renaissance I was sort of inspired just about what was going on around me," said member Craig Williams.
The song is getting spins on local radio stations and is even played at Barclays Center.
The Seal Breakers call their style "hip-pop-soul." They say they infuse lyrics about life, accompanied by a live multipiece band. The group says their sound is not common in music anymore.
The band is currently working on their first album, "Life As We Know It." They hope to then hit the road and bring their soulful tunes across the country.
