A clinic run by Interfaith Medical Center has reopened after a temporary shutdown over a patient showing possible Ebola symptoms.
The Bishop Orris G. Walker Jr. Health Care Clinic shut down Thursday morning. A spokesperson says a patient, who had just returned from Nigeria last week, had a low-grade fever and stomach problems at the time of arrival to the clinic.
While Nigeria has not had an Ebola case in over a month, the center says it "exercised an abundance of caution" and isolated the patient and closed the building. Patients say they saw clinic staff suiting up with masks and gloves.
The patient was taken to Kings County Hospital and was then discharged. A representative for the hospital says they currently have no patients with Ebola, or being held with Ebola-related symptoms.
