Temperatures in New York City will feel cooler tonight after a cold front moved through earlier today. Rain will mix with or change to wet snow this evening. Any buildup should be light and mostly on grassy or elevated areas. Roads across the city are expected to stay mainly wet.
For the rest of the week, NYC will see typical early-spring weather. Temperatures will stay seasonably cool on Friday, then warm up a bit on Saturday with highs reaching the low 50s. Overall, it should be fairly quiet weather across the city heading into the weekend.
Changes arrive late Sunday. A strong storm system will move toward the region, bringing increasing clouds and the chance for rain by Sunday night. Winds will also start to pick up as the system approaches the New York City area.
From Sunday night through Monday night, New York City could see periods of heavy rain along with strong, gusty winds. Some areas could receive over an inch of rain, and wind gusts may be strong at times. After the storm passes Monday night, colder air will move back in, bringing a chilly start to the middle of next week with temperatures dropping back into the 30s and 40s, including St. Patrick's Day on Tuesday.
