WHAT TO KNOW
  • Temperatures are in the 40s or close to it Sunday through Wednesday. A nice break from the bitter cold! But it will be windy!
  • Driest January on record? Little to no precipitation expected this week. Best chance would be Wednesday into Thursday, but that's north of us.
  • First few days of February will be stormy. Better chances for rain or snow there (probably rain at least for next weekend).
We see a lot of improvements in the forecast for the last week of January. It could be a temporary improvement though because signals are already pointing toward a stormier February. As of right now, we are on track for the driest January on record, and a cooler than normal month too.
The weekend starts off cold! Today is sunny with high temperatures struggling to get above freezing. With a light wind, expect afternoon temperatures to feel like they are only around 20. Clouds will increase tonight and tomorrow morning there could be a few flurries out east. Temperatures will be near freezing on Sunday morning, which is a big improvement! Expect sunny skies on Sunday afternoon with highs near 40. There's a catch though, it will be windy! Temperatures on Sunday afternoon will feel like near 30.
Monday and Tuesday look good. We're expecting more sun than clouds with highs near 40. Unfortunately, it will be windy with gusts up to 30 mph. Wind chill values will be around 30.
A cold front will move in on Wednesday night. This could bring rain or snow showers in the evening but right now it looks mainly dry. Thursday and Friday will be cold and clear.
