All eyes are on Thursday's Thanksgiving day forecast - especially for paradegoers. As of right now, it looks like Thanksgiving will be dry and sunny. The catch? Wind will be gusting close to the cut off for where balloons can fly.
We will continue to monitor, but plan for the parade to be cold and feel even colder. Layers with a good winter coat, gloves, scarves, mittens/gloves, and thick socks are a must for those out and about enjoying.
Until then, we have wet weather on the way for our main travel days. Tuesday and Wednesday will feature rain. Mostly steady light rain with pockets of moderate rain. This will start pre-evening commute on Tuesday and continue through Wednesday with a few breaks.
Wind picks up Tuesday and continues through Friday. The rain plus fallen leaves could make roads slippery-- and the wet weather could potentially disrupt or delay some travel plans. Make sure you're allowing extra time to get where you're heading.
Temperatures are bouncing all over the place this week. Tuesday is in the 50s, Wednesday soars to the 60s and then we crash to the 40s for the holiday through the weekend. Lows will be back in the 30s starting Thursday night, so combined with wind late night and early morning will feel frigid.
OVERNIGHT: Mostly cloudy and dry. Lows in the 40s.
TUESDAY: Morning clouds, evening rain. Highs in the mid-50s, lows in the low 50s.
WEDNESDAY: On and off rain to start. Highs in the low 60s, lows in the low 40s.
THANKSGIVING: Dry, sunny, blustery. Highs in the mid-40s, lows in the mid-30s.
FRIDAY: Windy and partly cloudy. Highs in the low 40s, lows in the low 30s.
