Record challenging highs start today with temps hovering near 92 degrees. These summer-like temperatures linger into Wednesday, Tuesday near 97-99 and Wednesday near 96 degrees. Heat relief is welcomed on Thursday after a cold front washes away the heat with thunderstorms and rain showers Wednesday afternoon.

Today, the heat is coupled with elevated pollutants across ground level trigger Air Quality concerns for sensitive groups. Limiting outdoor exposure and taking breaks as needed and staying hydrated are important well-being suggestions for today.

Temperatures also fall below to typical for the rest of the week into the Memorial Weekend. Rain shower chances could dampen outdoor plans for the unofficial start of the summer season.
