WHAT TO WATCH:
  • Bitter cold mornings
  • Showers Wednesday overnight.
  • Very windy Thursday could see a brief novelty snowflake, no accumulations.
  • Colder Friday and Saturday
  • Less confidence in next week's forecast
It's bitter cold to start the week, and even colder weather next weekend. Temperatures this morning are near freezing but feel like it's in the 20s. There will be some improvements in the afternoon. Yesterday was only 38 degrees, the coldest since February. Today's high is near 40F, which is still much colder than the average high of 49. Much of the same is expected for Tuesday and Wednesday. We're watching a storm Wednesday night into Thursday. The next storm system will bring only limited rain showers overnight Wednesday into Thursday, but a few snowflakes could mix in on Thursday morning and reduce visibility for the commute. The biggest impact from this storm will be the wind which could gust over 30 mph on Thursday afternoon. That stiff wind will dry us out quickly on Thursday, but it's also bringing in very cold air for the end of the week. Morning lows will once again drop into the mid-20s for Friday and Saturday morning. Another storm is nearby next Sunday, but at this time the forecast for next week is trending warmer.
