A Brooklyn grandmother is fighting for the custody of her granddaughters after they were allegedly abandoned by their mother on the streets.
In an interview with News 12 Brooklyn, Bertha Davia says she nearly suffered a heart attack after police found the girls, ages two and three, on the sidewalk at the Bayview Houses with a Good Samaritan over the weekend.
Police arrested Davia's daughter, 26-year-old Dalisha Adams, for allegedly abandoning her children.
The Administration for Children's Services placed the girls in foster care, but Davia wants them to be with her.
Adams faces two counts of endangering the welfare of a child. She is due in criminal court tomorrow.
