Police say a 67-year-old Brooklyn man was murdered in his Maple Terrace apartment Thursday, making it the first homicide of 2009 in New York City.
According to investigators, the home of Delonor Dorisant was ransacked, leading them to believe the man was killed in the course of a robbery. Authorities say Dorisant died from fatal blunt force injuries to his head.
The victim?s neighbors at 340 Maple St. say tenants frequently buzz in strangers into the building, thus making it possible for potential robbers to get access to the apartments.
So far, no arrests have been made in Dorisant?s murder. Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
