A Brooklyn native is being recognized as a new inductee into the New York City Basketball Hall of Fame.
Don Goldstein grew up in Brownsville and was a 1955 graduate from Tilden High School. He then went on to play for Louisville and was part of the first team to beat the Kentucky Wildcats in the 1959 semifinals.
Other big names at the Final Four that year were Cincinnati's Oscar Robertson and West Virginia's Jerry West. Goldstine says he could keep up with those guys thanks to his days on the courts in Brooklyn.
