Energy-efficient doors and the ability to recycle rain water are just two aspects of a new Navy yard building that make it stand apart from other developments in Brooklyn.
The yard is expanding, and helping the environment while doing so. Within the past year, 1.3 million square feet of new developments have been built, including a 90,000 square-foot building set to go up by June.
The new building will be unique because it will be a green building, which is rare in the industry. Being a green building means the architecture will adhere to certain energy-efficient standards, which include energy-efficient doors, windows and roof.
Other developments in the area include Steiner Studios, which will renovate the building next to their studio. The DNH Photography Company will build a new facility next spring.
