A Brooklyn pediatrician was arrested in September and charged with criminal sexual acts with a minor and one count of sexual abuse, police say.
According to the Manhattan District Attorney?s Office, Jamie Cortes sexually abused a 13-year-old boy, who is one of his patients. The doctor has three offices, one at 712 Knickerbocker Ave., one in Manhattan and one in Queens. The abuse, according to the district attorney, occurred out of his Manhattan office.
The alleged abuse may have been going on since the boy was 10 years old. Cortes is accused of sending the boy inappropriate and graphic text messages, while also giving him money.
Any of Cortes? patients who believe they were sexually abused by the doctor are asked to call the Sexual Abuse Hotline at 212-335-4300.
